What is Wordle?
Wordle is a simple yet addictive online word game that challenges players to find a five-letter word in six guesses – with a new puzzle published every day. Created by British software engineer Josh Wardle in 2021, the game became a worldwide phenomenon and was acquired by The New York Times in 2022.
What started as a fun game for Wardle and his partner quickly went viral. Thanks to the easily shareable colored grid results on social media, the user base exploded from just 90 players in November 2021 to over 300,000+ players by early 2022. Today, millions play Wordle daily!
How to Play Wordle
Wordle is easy to learn but challenging to master:
- Guess a 5-letter word – Start by entering any valid five-letter word
- Check the colors – After each guess, tiles change color:
- 🟩 Green = Correct letter in the correct position
- 🟨 Yellow = Correct letter but wrong position
- ⬛ Gray = Letter not in the word at all
- Use the clues – Refine your next guess based on the colors
- Solve in 6 tries – You have 6 attempts to find the word
- Share your results – Share your colored grid (spoiler-free!) with friends
How to Use the Wordle Solver

Understanding Wordle Colors
Master the color system to solve puzzles faster:
Green Tiles (Correct Position)
The letter is in the word AND in the exact right spot. Keep this letter in the same position for all future guesses. For example, if the 'A' in position 2 turns green, every guess should have 'A' as the second letter.
Yellow Tiles (Wrong Position)
The letter is in the word but NOT in this position. You need to move this letter to a different spot in your next guess. If 'E' is yellow in position 4, try it in positions 1, 2, 3, or 5.
Gray Tiles (Not in Word)
The letter is NOT in the word at all. Eliminate this letter from all future guesses. Our solver's exclusion feature helps you filter out gray letters automatically.

| SLATE | Common consonants + 2 vowels | S, L, A, T, E |

Wordle Tips & Tricks
Master these strategies to solve Wordle in fewer guesses:
1. Start with Vowel-Heavy Words
Words like ADIEU, AUDIO, or OUIJA test multiple vowels at once, quickly revealing which vowels are in the answer.
2. Use Common Consonants Early
Letters like R, S, T, L, N appear in the most English words. Include them in your first two guesses to maximize information.
3. Don't Reuse Gray Letters
Once a letter turns gray, never use it again. Our Wordle solver automatically filters out excluded letters for you.
4. Move Yellow Letters
Yellow means right letter, wrong spot. Always try yellow letters in NEW positions – never the same spot twice.
5. Consider Double Letters
Words like SPEED, CHILL, and VIVID have repeated letters. Don't forget this possibility when stuck!
6. Use Hard Mode for Practice
Hard Mode forces you to use all revealed hints. It's great practice for developing better Wordle strategies.
